What is a Trigger Point?
A Trigger Point is simply a small contraction knot in muscle tissue. The Trigger Point affects muscle by keeping it both tight and weak. A trigger point maintains a hard contraction on the muscle fibers that it is part of causing Metabolic waste to be trapped, and range of motion to be constricted. Trigger Points typically send pain to other sites, this referred pain can be difficult to identify, so instead the focus should be on treating the cause and not the site of the pain
